Sri Lanka has earned much recognition at the International Monitory Fund meeting as a country emerging towards an accelerated growth rate. The meeting concluded recently in Washington.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Sarath Amunugama on his arrival from the IMF World Bank Spring Sessions in Washington said that Sri Lanka earned accolades from the IMF and the World Bank. The IMF instalment will be issued as planned.
The World Bank expectations on education, infrastructure development and construction and rehabilitation of bridges are fulfilled. The Minister said bilateral discussions were held with Finance Ministers from China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and other major donors to Sri Lanka on the sidelines of the meeting.
