Police on the look out for suspects who damaged the Ministry

Investigations are underway to arrest the remaining suspects who had been involved in causing damage to property of the Higher Education Ministry.

The Cinnamon Gardens Police who is conducting investigations said that a group of students forcibly entered the premises of the Higher Education Ministry on the 14th of this month and caused damage to public property. The Police have recorded the statements made by the members of the Inter University Students Federation. The Police have said that the remaining suspects will be arrested on the information revealed by the video footage pertaining to the incident. The damage caused is said to be amounting to 200,000 rupees.

Meanwhile the 21 students who are already in custody were remanded until the 29th of this month by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.
