The UK branch of Commonwealth Parliamentary Association has informed that all parties in the United Kingdom are ready to help Sri Lanka.
This message was conveyed when the a delegation of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association met President Rajapaksa. Parliamentarian Murphy who led the delegation said the United Kingdom is happy that terrorism is eliminated.
President Rajapaksa told them, that the people of the North are in need of the basic requirements such as water, electricity, schools, health services and education at present. The President explained to them that a political solution to the national issue has to be one which is acceptable to all sections of the country.
The President said he is looking forward to have a dialogue with the Tamil political parties to discuss this political solution. He added that already some parties have responded positively to his call.
