Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris has said that several international organizations are engaged in an attempt to tarnish the image of Sri Lanka.
The Minister delivered the keynote address at the 1st IISS-Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry Dialogue at the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London. The Minister pointed out that International Organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch criticize the activities of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission appointed by the President. These organizations have made baseless narrow criticisms without any acceptable evidence. The External Affairs Minister has pointed out that their aim is to undermine the attempts made by the Commission to find a fair and a practical solution by preventing the presentation of evidence before the Commission.
