The issue of permits to Foreign Employment Agencies is being restricted.
The Foreign Employment Bureau has decided not to issue permits for Districts where Foreign Job Agencies are rife. Chairman of the Bureau Kingsley Ranawaka said that the commitment of malpractices in the dispatch of migrant workers has increased with Job agencies being rampant. Accordingly, a special review of the jobs agencies that are dispersed at the District level will be undertaken. Thereafter, the Foreign Employment Bureau planned to issue permits for new Job Agencies only for essential areas.
