The Government plans to recruit more than 3000 aesthetic teachers before the forthcoming budget. Minister Bandula Gunawardena made this revelation at the Prize Giving of the Annual Report and Accounts competition of the National Schools.
The Minister said that at present Sri Lanka needs teachers for aesthetic subjects such as Art, Dancing, Music and Drama. He said that a competitive examination had already been held and the results have already been released by the Examinations Commissioner General. 3174 teachers will be appointed before the forthcoming budget. The Minister was confident that these teachers would be role models for the children, required to build a new Sri Lanka.
