The Health Ministry Research report reveals that the rice available in the market for sale is 100% suitable for consumption.
The nutrition composition in rice is very high. It has the required carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, minerals salts and fibre. The blood sugar levels can be minimized by consuming par boiled rice. It also helps to reduce the collateral level in blood and control cancer. The Health Ministry launched a special operation to consolidate the quality of rice, the main food of Sri Lankans. It was carried out on the instructions of the President. Inquiries were made whether the rice is available in the market was suitable for consumption. In addition to meal rice supplying centres, selected sales outlets were subject to examination. According to these research reports, The Health Ministry points out that there is no issue on the quality and the standard of rice available in the market.
