University Vice Chancellors on Monday stressed the importance of identifying the handful of students who are trying to cripple the entire university system of the country.
They also called for a common mechanism to ensure that discipline is maintained in the university premises at all times.
They called for a viable mechanism to rehabilitate these students for the benefit of majority of students. They were of the view that this type of action would ensure development of university education. The Vice Chancellors made this observation when they met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on Monday.
The President was informed that the students are engaged in violent activities due to the pressure of a handful of students. They opined that these students should be identified.
