PINEVILLE - Oscar Moultrie can once again share his Christian faith through signs in his yard.
Moultrie is the plaintiff in a federal lawsuit filed earlier this month against Berkeley County. The suit challenges the constitutionality of the countys sign ordinance. It was filed on Moultries behalf by lawyers for the Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties group.
Moultries lawyer, Henry L. Hamilton of Columbia, said Tuesday that he received a letter from an attorney representing the county.
Hamilton said the gist of the letter was, "Hey, no problem. Put the signs back up."
The letter also said the county plans to change its sign ordinance.
