USC wins defense fuel-cell grant

USC has landed a $3.6 million grant from the U.S. Defense Department to research how to make fuel cells lighter for portable power uses.
The research will be conducted by three USC endowed chairs at their new labs in the Horizon I building on the school's Innovista reedrch campus.
The grant was announced by U.S. Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., EngenuitySC and SCRA.
