Richland county authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection to the armed robbery of the Safe Federal Credit Union at 100-4 Forum Drive on Tuesday.
According to witnesses, the man entered the bank around 2:15pm, ordered all the employees to put their hands up and give him the money in the tellers' cash drawers.
According to a Sheriff's Department statement, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of money in a waiting white Pontiac Sunfire toward North Springs Road. The car, a four door 2000-2002 model, had dark tinted windows and a loud muffler.
The Richland County Sheriff's department released photographs of the suspect and the car he fled in hoping the public might be able to help solve the crime.
When he entered the bank, the suspect was covered from head to toe, wearing a dark OLD NAVY hooded sweatshirt, a face mask with small slits for his eyes, and plastic bags covering his hands. He was estimated to be about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds.
