Oct 29, 2010 11:10:18 AM - itnnews.lk

Advocate Gomin Dayasiri testifying before the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission has said that the Ceasefire Agreement was totally unsuccessful. He was testifying before the Commission at the Lakshman Kadirgamar Centre in Colombo yesterday.

He told the Commission that every Clause in the ceasefire strengthened the LTTE. A ceasefire should be there to facilitate the peace process. Mr. Dayasiri claimed that Sri Lanka had done a big mistake by choosing Norwegians as the facilitator. He emphasized that they just don’t understand.

Mr. Dayasiri suggested that with the conclusion of war now the government should focus on ethnic harmony by creating a trilingual society. “Trilingual education should be given from the younger age. For that it should be made compulsory from grade one. Trilingual program initiated by the President is commendable in this effort. He added that for national harmony the language program should be carried forward in an accelerated manner.
