The new trade complex built for the sidewalk vendors in Nugegoda will be inaugurated this evening.
The trade complex building with a large open space provides room for nearly 500 traders. The President recently inspected the construction of the trade complex. This provides stalls for the vendors who were selling their merchandise on the sidewalks while contributing towards the beautification of the city. The traders who were evacuated few months ago had been provided a temporary location. The new complex built near the Nugegoda supermarket building has 186 shops. It has been constructed at a cost of 18 million rupees. Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa is expected to declare open the trade complex this evening.
