Many local as well as foreign investors are entering the North for the launch of new factories bringing spring to the Province. Among them are Japanese investors.
The Government is now engaged in the uphill task of developing the North with the total elimination of the LTTE. Local as well as foreign investors are displaying a keen interest in establishing new factories. A group of Japanese investors is now on a visit to Jaffna to explore the possibility of undertaking investments. They met the Jaffna Government Agent Imelda Sukumar and made inquiries about the prevailing situation in the area. The Japanese investors said that a conducive environment prevails in the Province to undertake investments after terrorism which plagued the country for three-decades.
