Many hospitals in the North Central Province are being developed to upgrade the health facilities of the people.
The North Central Provincial Council has taken initiatives to meet all requirements of the Thambuttegama hospital after being upgraded to a Base Hospital. Provincial Chief Minister Bertie Premalal Dissanayake declared open the new hostel put up for the nursing staff. The three storied building cost 12.6 million rupees. The hospital is equipped with a surgical theater, a Blood Bank and an X-ray unit.
