When Sri Lankans are sentenced for offences committed in other countries we protest, appeal and request for clemency. Other countries do the same when their citizens are convicted overseas. Offences vary from minor to carrying drugs and premeditated murder. Is it fair to get them out by influencing the authorities?
Aren’t we as responsible people, expected to respect the judgments given by courts in other countries? It looks funny when people are convicted in our own country and nobody bothers about them.
