Sri Lankan migrant workers stranded in Kuwait are scheduled to arrive in the country today (7).
The Foreign Employment Bureau has said that 113 migrant workers who were stranded in Kuwait would return to the country. Among the majority of female migrant workers who were stranded in Kuwait, there are eight males.
The migrant workers had sought refuge at the Sri Lankan embassy in Kuwait when they were stranded after losing their jobs.
The Foreign Employment Bureau had managed to make the necessary arrangements for the migrant workers to return to the country following discussions between the Sri Lankan embassy in Kuwait and and the Kuwait authorities.
