The Colombo High Court today (8) granted bail to 21 university students who were arrested last month for forcibly entering into the Higher Education Ministry and causing damage to public property.
The students and they were advised not to take part in any political activities.
The students were informed that if any complaint was received abut them having participated in any protests or meetings, the bail would be revoked and they would be placed under arrest again.
Judge Deepali Wijesundara who considered the bail application released the students on a personal bail of Rs. 25,000 each.
The students were arrested on October 14 after they forcibly entered into the Higher Education Ministry.
