Motorcycles in front of parade offend veterans

Some veterans pulled out of Charleston's Veterans' Day Parade because they didn't like motorcycles leading the parade instead of a military honor guard.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reported members of the Military Vehicle Collectors of South Carolina withdrew about 20 vehicles Sunday because the bikers led the parade.
Former Army Sgt. Stephen Riggs of Charleston said Monday those in military uniform should lead the parade. Riggs had planned to drive a 1942 Ford Army Jeep pulling a 37 mm anti-tank gun.
The VA medical center organizes the parade and spokeswoman Tonya Lobbestael says veterans on motorcycles have led the parade for three years.
Riggs says he complained to planners and was told the color guard would lead. It's not clear who was responsible for the change.
