A car chase complete with drugs flying out the suspect's window ended with an arrest in Lexington County.
Jaris Johns, 24, of Lexington, is charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, the Richland County Sheriff's Department said.
Johns was involved in a suspected drug transaction at a known drug location on Millwood Avenue in Richland County around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, the department said.
Investigators who were monitoring the area attempted to arrest Johns but instead were led on a chase into Lexington County. Before Johns was arrested on Old Wire Road, deputies witnessed objects flying out of the car that were identified later as illegal drugs.
After the arrest, the car was searched and additional drugs were found, the department said.
