Rehabilitated LTTE cadres told to make use of the Government’s programme

Minister Dew Gunasekera has called on the rehabilitated LTTE cadres to make optimum use of the Government Rehabilitation Programme and make their contribution towards the National Development Process.

The Minister said that around 5,300 rehabilitated former LTTE cadres have already been released. He said that the Government needs to complete this task at the earliest possible date. He said that for 30 years the Northern youth could not pursue education. The Government has provided education facilities and former University students have been reabsorbed to the Universities. He said that the development activities will be continued and requested the rehabilitated youths to make optimum use of the Government attempts. He noted that the technology has been upgraded and the Government is providing them the required technological assistance. He called upon the youths to utilize the knowledge gained to make their future lives successful.
