Army Chief Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya has revealed of a conference slated for next year in Sri Lanka to appraise the entire world of the humanitarian operations which led to achieving amazing victory.
The Army Commander said that arrangements have been made to impart training to foreign military forces on the instructions of the Defence Secretary. Their knowledge on tactics of fighting against the terrorists will be enhanced. The Military strategies adopted during the final stages of the humanitarian operations and experiences gained through this effort will be imparted to foreign troops by the middle of next year. An international conference will be organized in Sri Lanka in which foreign troops will be participating. The Army Chief said this would help to further build the image of the Sri Lanka military in the world.
Lt. Gen. Jayasuriya was speaking at a function organized to grant 2.4 million rupees as assistance for students. Commander of the Voluntary Regiment Major General D.R.A.B. Jayatilake handed over a sum of one million rupees for the Ranaviru Abimansala which is being built in Anuradhapura.
