The term tests due to be held in government schools from tomorrow till Friday have been postponed.
The Education Ministry has reached this decision considering the series of functions to be held in the country to mark the assumption of office by the President. Accordingly the term tests that were to be held in schools from tomorrow to Friday will not be held. Secretary to the Education Ministry Sunil S. Sirisena said that the term tests have been postponed to the following week that starts on the 22nd . The government has declared a holiday for schools and offices in Colombo 1, 2, 3 and 4 areas on Friday when the function to mark the President’s assumption of office will be held. The government has requested the private sector employers to grant this holiday for their employees as well.
