The US and India have said that the resettlement programme launched in Sri Lanka is commendable. It was mentioned at a programme held to mark the 20th anniversary of the forcible eviction of Muslims from the North by the tiger terrorists.
US Ambassador Patricia Butenis said that the US will work closely with the Sri Lankan Government and the people in creating a peaceful and a prosperous country.
Indian High Commissioner Ashok K. Kantha said the programme of the government is commendable and the Government and the resettled people can derive satisfaction from it. He opined that India will extend its maximum support for the programme.
