A woman was killed Sunday night on I-26 when another car struck her SUV while traveling east on the interstate.
The identity of the woman killed in the three-car collision has not been released. She died at the scene, the highway patrol reported.
The accident occurred at 9:35 p.m. on I-26 near the Piney Grove Road exit in Lexington County when a 2004 Jeep sport utility vehicle driven by Sean M. Buller, 21, of Columbia ran off the highway and hit the barrier in the middle of the road, said Trooper Kelly Hughes. Buller came back onto the interstate and then hit the woman's 2001 Hyundai SUV, Hughes said.
When Buller's Jeep hit the woman's Hyundai the impact caused her car to run off the other side of the road and turn over, Hughes said. A 2007 Honda Accord driven by Jazek Jakowski of Oak Ridge, Tenn., then hit Buller's Jeep.
Buller and Jakowski were not injured, Hughes said. No charges have been filed in the accident.
