Minister S.B. Dissanayake says that the students who pass G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will get the opportunity in near future to study at private universities and vocational institutes.
The Minister made this reference while taking part in the Diploma awarding ceremony of the Sri Lanka Institute of Higher Education in Technology. Speaking further the Minister noted that foreign higher education institutes will be permitted to operate on the condition that they admit 20 percent of local students.
He said the present Government will broaden the prospects of students but would never limit it. Head of the British Birmingham Urban University Dr. Premjith Waima was present on this occasion.
