Alms were offered to 1500 mothers to mark the President’s birthday and his second term inauguration.
The Pinkama organized by the Public Service United Nurses Union was held early this morning. It was held at the Abhayarama Temple in Narahenpita. President Rajapaksa also participated in this Pinkama.
The Nurses Union said that the blessing showered through this alms giving to mothers will be a strength to the President who is planning to uplift the nation with the development drive mooted after the defeat of terrorism.
The Alms Giving was organized under the guidance of the Ven. Muruthettuwe Ananda thera. Members of the Maha Sangha including the Ven. Welamitiyawe Kusala-dhamma thera were present. Various religious ceremonies are being organized countrywide at temples and institutions to mark the President’s second term inauguration.
