Buddhist leaders worldwide have paid tribute to the President for his noble services to Buddhism.
The anniversary function marking the closing ceremony of the World’s Buddhist Congress was held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium last evening. The Congress attended by World Buddhist Leader was held for three days from last Sunday.
Representatives from many countries where the Buddha Dhamma has been propagated participated. President Rajapaksa earned accolades from the World Buddhist Congress for his noble service for the propagation of the Dhamma in Sri Lanka as well as in the world.
The felicitation award to the President was presented by General Secretary of the World Buddhist Congress Pelop Thaiyari. Members of the Maha Sangha, Parliamentarians and local as well as foreign scholars were present at this event.
