The burning of fuel of the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant, a mega project of the massive development drive planned to make Sri Lanka the Asia’s Miracle, commenced this morning.
In the generation of coal power, firstly the burning should be carried out by fuel for the activation of the furnace. Accordingly, the burning of fuel in the furnace will take place tomorrow under the stage one during which 300 megawatts of power was generated.
It is a main segment of a slew of projects slated for operation by the Ministry of Power and Energy in parallel to the inauguration of the President’s Second Term of Office. In the meantime the transfer of 65 thousand metric tons of coal brought from Indonesia to the jetty commended today.
