Prison officials have said that former Army Commander and DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka
has been admitted to the Prison Hospital due to a sudden illness.
Prisons Commissioner General, Major General V.R. De Silva has told the media that Fonseka was admitted to the Prison Hospital last night following a sudden illness.
Fonseka had reportedly fallen ill after returning to the prison after attending two cases against him in courts yesterday.
Meanwhile, Fonseka’s wife Anoma Fonseka has been quoted in the local media saying that Fonseka was transferred to the Prisons Hospital because his prison cell was leaking the previous night due to heavy rains.
