Former Army Commander and DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka is to be provided with the necessary facilities to exercise following a directive issued by the Colombo High Court today (18) to the Prison authorities. Courts also ordered the Prison authorities to repair the roof in his cell.
The High Court delivered this order when the controversial “white flag” case was taken up for hearing today.
Fonseka’s Counsel Nalin Ladduwahetti informed the court that Fonseka was unable to attend proceedings since he was receiving treatment at the prison hospital.
Ladduwahetti told court that the Prison authorities have failed to provide Fonseka with the necessary facilities although the court had ordered them to do so and he also said the roof in Fonseka’s cell leaked during rains.
