A Pickens County sheriff's deputy has shot and wounded a man after officers responded to a domestic dispute.
Multiple media outlets reported that Assistant Sheriff Tim Morgan said the man was involved in "an ongoing domestic dispute" in Pickens on Wednesday night and several officers responded.
Morgan says the man was in the yard with a gun when officers arrived. Morgan says deputies tried to negotiate for about a half hour before he made a gesture with the gun and was shot. It was unclear how many times he was hit.
He was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment. His name has not been released.
Morgan says no officers were hurt.
