Sri Lanka soldiers are to serve as peacekeepers in Lebanon for the first time.
The team will comprise 150 members. It would include 16 officers. Lt. Col. Shantha Herath of Mechanical Infantry Regiment will serve as the Commander in Chief. They were serve in Lebanon for a period of six months also with war tanks and six dogs. Their passing out parade was held under the supervision of Commander of the Mechanical Infantry Regiment Major General Milinda Peiris Vice Chancellor the Kotalawela University.
