New Cabinet Takes Oaths

The new Cabinet of Ministers took before President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat this morning.

D.M. Jayaratne has been reappointed as Prime Minister and Minister in Charge of Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs. Ratnasiri Wickremanayake took oaths as a Senior Minister of good governance and infrastructure. DEW Gunaseka is a Senior Minister Human resources. Athuda Seneviratne took oaths as Senior Minister of Rural Affairs. P. Dayaratne is the Senior Minister of Food and Nutrition. A.H.M. Fowzi is the Senior Ministers Urban Affairs. S.B. Navinna is the Senior Minister of Consumer Welfare. Piyasena Gamage took oaths as the Senior Minister of National Resources. Prof. Tissa Witharana is the Senior Minister of Scientific Affairs. Dr. Sarath Amunugama is the Senior Minister of International Monetary Cooperation. Nimal Siripala de Silva is the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management. Maithripala Sirisena is the Minister of Health Susil Premajayantha is the Minister of Petroleum Industries. Arumugam Thondaman took oaths as the Minister of Livestock and Rural Community Development, Dinesh Gunawardena took oaths as the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage. Douglas Devananda is the Minister of Traditinal Industries and Small Enterpise Development. A.L.M. Athaulla is the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils. The Minister of Industry and Commerce is Rishath Bathiudeen.

Patalie Champika Ranawaka is the Minister of Power and Energy. Wimal Weerawansa is the Minister of Construction Engineering Service Housing and Common Amenities. Rauff Hakeem is the Minister of Justice. Basil Rajapaksa took oaths as the Minister of Economic Development. Wasudeva Nanayakkara is the Minister of national languagaes and social integration. S.B. Dissanayake took oaths as the Minister of Higher Education. Prof. G.L. Peiris has taken over the portfolio of External Affiars..W.D.J. Seneviratne has taken oaths as the Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs. Sumedha G. Jayasena took oaths as the Minister of Parliamentary Affiaris.

Jeevan Kumaratunga has taken oaths as the Minister of Postal Services. Pavithra Wanniarachchi is the Minister of Technology and Research while Anura Priyadharshan Yapa is the Minister of Environment. Tissa Karaliyedda took oaths as the Minister of Child Development and Women’s Affairs. Gamini Lokuge is the Minister of Labour and Labour Relations. Bandula Gunawardena took oaths as the Minister of Education. Mahinda Samarasinghe is the Minister of Plantation Industries. Rajitha Senaratne took oaths as the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development. Janaka Bandara Tennakoon is the Minister of Lands and Land Development. Felix Perera took oaths as the Minister of Social Services. C.B. Ratnayake has taken over the portfolio of Private Transport Services. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is the Minister of Agriculture. Keheliya Rambukwella is the Minister of Mass Media and Information. Kumara Welgama has been appointed as Minister of Transport. Dallas Alahapperuma is the Minister of Youth Affairs and Skills Development. Johnston Fernando is the Minister of Cooperatives and Internal Trade. Chandrasiri Gajadeera took oaths as the Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms.

Salinda Dissanayake is the Minister of Indigenous Medicine. Reginald Cooray has taken oaths as the Minister of Minor Export Crop Promotion. .Dilan Perera is also included in the Cabinet as the Minister of Foreign Employment and Welfare. Jagath Pushpakumara is the Minister of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development. T.B. Ekanayake is the Minister of Culture and the Arts. Mahinda Amaraweera is the Minister of Disaster Management. .S.M. Chandrasena is the Minister of Agrarian Services and Wildlife. Gunaratne Weerakoon is the Minister of Resettlement. Mervyn Silva has taken over the portfolio of Public Relations and Public Affairs. Mahindananda Aluthgamage is the Minister of Sports. Dayasritha Tissera is the Minister of State Resources and Enterprise Development. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya is the Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology. Jagath Balasuriya is the Minister of National Heritage. Lakshman Seneviratne has been appointed as the Minister of Productivity Promotion. Navin Dissanayake is the Minister of Public Management Reforms.
