A special license is being issued for the private vehicles that transport school children.
The Chairperson of the Child Protection Authority Anoma Dissanayake said that the license is being issued to minimize the incidents of child abuse in school vans. The license is being prepared with fingerprints of the owners and police reports. The condition of the vehicle is also taken into consideration. It has also been made compulsory to inform the Child Protection Authority in case the ownership of the vehicle is being transferred. Anoma Dissanayake said that the decision will be implemented as soon as the Cabinet approval will be granted.
