Junior Netball Academy commenced in Kandy

On an invitation from Kandy Netball Association President Shanthini Kohongage the former versatile player of Good Shepherd Convent Kandy, former Sri Lanka skipper and Coach Deepthi Alwis to commence the first Junior Netball Academy for Kandy girls. This is a mostly needed promotion for Kandy., which is going to help the young girls in a big way.
Undoubtedly this was a long felt need, and now it has come alive. It is in Kandy that the game was introduced first by Girls High School and Hillwood Girls College. In Kandy Netball has the enthusiasm and follow up and this academy will be an excellent move for the beginners to develop and promote the game to greater heights, it’s going to be a great opportunity for the young and keen Netballers to put things in place and advance further with the best and famous coach Deepthi. The current Netball big boss Leisha de Silva Chandrasena a fine netballer herself at Mahamaya Girls College, it was under her leadership that for the first time the national Championship was held in Kandy. She says Deepthi is a fine coach and can do a fine good job.
