Jean Todt, President, Federation Internationale de L’Automobile (FIA) the world’s largest Motoring Organization, will be visiting Sri Lanka on December 20, 2010.
There are two Clubs in Sri Lanka under the umbrella of FIA in Sri Lanka namely Automobile Association of Ceylon (AAC) - for Mobility and Tourism and Ceylon Motoring Sports Clubs (CMSC) for Sports Activities. Both these Clubs are making necessary arrangements for his arrival.
Jean Todt, had a successful career as Rally Co-driver from 1966-1981, ending with a Manufacturers’ World Title win with Talbot Lotus. He was the Director of Racing Activities for Automobile Peugeot, where he founded the Peugeot Talbot Sports Team. This team won several Rallies and Championships. In 1990, Todt became Director of Sports activities at PSA Peugeot, - Citroen Group, which won the Worlds Title in Sports Cars in 1992.
Todt entered his career as General Manager with Ferrari of its Racing Division in 1993. By 2001, he was the General Manager of all Sporting Activities of the Ferrari - Maserati Group. In 2006, he became the Chief Executive Officer of Ferrari SpA. During his time Ferrari won a total of 98 Grand Prix victories and 13 World Titles.
