India’s External Affairs Minister arrives in the island further strengthening relations between the two countries.
The Indian deputation headed by External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna reached the Katunayake International Airport this afternoon. He was warmly greeted by his Sri Lankan counterpart Prof. G.L. Peiris. During his three day stay, the Indian Minister is scheduled to meet President Rajapaksa and high level politicians. He is due to open two Consular Offices in Jaffna and Hambantota. The Indian Minister is confident that his visit would help strengthen long standing cooperation between the two countries.
