Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna has said that every country desires to invest in Sri Lanka. He expressed this view in an interview held on board the aircraft on his way to Sri Lanka.
The Indian Minister said he would propose to Indian investors to consider Sri Lanka as a favourable destination. He noted that a few industrialists are displaying considerable interest in investing in Sri Lanka.
An Indian delegation led by Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna arrived in the country yesterday. He was welcomed by Foreign Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris at the Katunayake International Airport. He is expected to meet President Rajapaksa during his three day official stay. The Indian Foreign Minister is also scheduled to meet several senior Ministers. He will also participate in the inauguration of two Consular Offices in Jaffna and Hambantota. Arrangements have been made for the inauguration of several development projects launched with Indian assistance. The Indian Foreign Minister has expressed confidence that his visit will be instrumental in enhancing the long standing cooperation between the two countries
