Power supplies are now normal. Chairman of the Electricity Board Vidya Amarapala said power supplies have been restored throughout the country
A power outage was experienced in many parts of the island. However, the Electricity Board has now been able to overcome the situation and restore the supplies. The Chairman attributed the power outage to the tripping of the main transmission line from Kotmale to Biyagama at around 3.00 p.m. He said a major area is covered through this transmission line running from Kotmale to Biyagama. However due to the dedicated services of the Engineers of the Board as well as the officials they were able to restore the supplies. He appreciated their services despite today being a holiday.
