The Pakistani President met his Sri Lankan counterpart at the Presidential Secretariat today. The discussions were followed by the signing of four agreements.
The meeting between Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and President Rajapaksa was held at the Presidential Secretariat this evening. Their discussions centred on bilateral cooperation. The Presidential Media Unit said that the talks were more beneficial for both countries. Thereafter four agreements were signed in the presence of the two leaders.
Ministers Prof. G.L. Peiris and Pakistan Foreign Minister Makhdoom Sha Mahmood Qureshi signed an agreement related to Visa Abolition for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
A Memorandum of Under standing on Agricultural Cooperation was also signed. It was inked by Agricultural Secretary K.E. Karunatileke and High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka Seema Illahi Baloch.
The third agreement related to Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters. This agreement was signed by Director General of Customs of Sri Lanka Sudharma Karunaratne and the Pakistani High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.
Vice Chancellor of University of the Visual & Performing Arts Prof. Jayasena Kottegodfa signed an agreement with the Pakistani High Commissioner. It related to Cooperation in the field of Arts and Creative Studies.
