Work on the final stage of the Havelock City Housing complex begins. The final stage will have 800 housing units.
The Havelock City Housing Project is the largest single property development investment scheme in the country. The allocation made for the final stage of the complex at Wellawatte in Colombo is 350 million US dollars. The work on the final stage is due to be completed within two years. 226 houses were built under the first stage. A media conference was held to give details on the construction of the final phase of the project. Senior Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama and Chairman of the Overseas Realty Company contributing financially to the project S.P. Tao joined at the news briefing held at the housing complex premises.
