Japan has expressed its willingness to provide another 45 million rupees to improve the livelihoods of the families in Batticaloa.
The Japanese Governments said these funds will be provided under the third phase of the project to uplift living standards of the resettled people. The financial allocations will be utilized to develop agriculture in the Chenkaladi area. The Japanese Ambassador in Colombo pointed out that about 5000 families would benefit directly and indirectly. Japan is willing to continuously assist Sri Lanka to achieve the development goals.
