President Rajapaksa has asserted to the world in Britain that he would not permit the apprehension of war heroes, even if he was arrested. The President had emphasized this to the British authorities.

The President had done a great thing before returning to his motherland like a lion. When tiger loyalist organizations and conspirators were making arrangements to apprehend him, the President said that he is a human rights activist and was fully acquainted with the law. No one could arrest him. If possible he demanded them to do so. He had asserted the fact that he would not permit the arrest of any war hero branding them as war criminals.
