The Ceylon Electricity Board plans to save 10 Billion Rupees by next year. Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka said that the profit and the benefits would be shared among its employees through its profit making ventures.
He said several discussions had been conducted on its future strategies. According to the past records it was running with a loss of 40 billion rupees. But now it has begun to make profits. He requested 15000 employees to strengthen these achievements through commitment and dedication. He added that he will undertake the burden posed by the Electricity Board in its future ventures.
The Minister was speaking at a meeting at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium with the employees, comprising Clerks, Drivers and trained Technical Officers.
