Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne has said that the double standards of certain European and Western countries on terrorism should be disclosed to the world.
In a statement, he said that no democratic nation in the world should remain silent with regard to the incident in London, where some LTTE loyalists demonstrated against the President’s visit last week.
The Prime Minister opined that as a nation, Sri Lanka faced several such situations in the past as well. Therefore, he underpinned that the country should face this situation courageously, to defeat those powers. The President is the only leader who fearlessly confronted the terrorists and routed them. He is a fitting example to leaders of other countries. The Prime Minister referred to the President’s dedication of granting an opportunity for all communities to live within a free and peaceful environment.
