UNP Deputy Leader has denied making any statement about war crimes in his statement to a weekend newspaper.
Jayasuriya speaking in parliament today (7) noted that he had never mentioned the words “war crimes” and “diaspora” in his statement.
The UNP deputy leader made the statement in parliament following claims by the government that a no-confidence motion will be presented against him for stating that a war crimes probe should be conducted on Sri Lanka.
According to Jayasuriya, he was a true patriot although he did not exhibit the fact.
He told parliament that he had only said that an explanation should be provided over the allegations made against Sri Lanka by the international community.
