The Norwegian Government is prepared to expand investment opportunities in Sri Lanka. Norway’s Ambassador Hilde Haraldstad, during a meeting with the Prime Minister appreciated the attempts made by the Sri Lankan Government to build relations between communities.
She met Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne at the Prime Minister’s official residence at Visumpaya. She told him that Sri Lanka was now treading on a new path. The Norwegian Ambassador revealed that a high level business delegation from her country would be arriving in the island early next year. They are planning to launch some new factories. The Prime Minister told her that plans required to step up economic development in Sri Lanka under the President’s leadership are in place.
In the meantime, a cordial discussion between the Prime Minister and the Switzerland Ambassador to Sri Lanka Thomas Litscher took place this afternoon.
