A North Carolina man accused of killing three female acquaintances and dumping two of them in South Carolina is to go on trial for capital murder in September.
The Gaston Gazette reported the date was set by Superior Court Judge Jesse Caldwell on Monday.
Forty-eight-year-old Danny Hembree Jr. could face the death penalty if convicted. Hembree is charged with three counts of first-degree murder.
Police say he knew all three victims.
Hembree is accused of last year's killing of 17-year-old Heather Catterton whose body was found near Clover, S.C. He's also charged with slaying 30-year-old Randi Dean Saldana, whose burned remains were found near Blacksburg, S.C.
