South Carolina State University has been reaccredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools for another 10 years.
Multiple media outlets report that the Orangeburg school made that announcement Tuesday.
SC State President George Cooper says the nine-step reaffirmation process began in the spring of 2007 and included an analysis of the university's compliance with SACS standards
In December 2008, SACS placed SC State under a one-year warning for not maintaining a clear distinction between the duties of trustees and the administration. The warning was lifted a year later, after the school clearly defined the roles of the administration and the board.
